Harvey's Hotline #7: In Search of the Truth, Let Us Never Yield!

Let us remember the words of Lord Alfred Tennyson, both in dark moments of despair and in brighter times of hope:

I am part of all that I have met;
Yet all experience is an arch wherethrough
Gleams that untravelled world, whose margin fades
For ever and for ever when I move.
How dull it is to pause, to make an end,
To rust unburnished, not to shine in use!
As though to breath were life. Life piled on life
Were all too little, and of one to me
Little remains: but every hour is saved
From that eternal silence, something more,
A bringer of new things; and vile it were
For some three suns to store and hoard myself,
And this grey spirit yearning in desire
To follow knowledge like a sinking star,
Beyond the utmost bound of human thought.

Let us not forget in this regard the inspiring words of Senator Edward M. Kennedy (1932-2009), who cited Tennyson's words when he ended his campaign to be the Democratic nominee for President in 1980: “For me, a few hours ago, this campaign came to an end. For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."

May your work and devoted labors on behalf of others ensure that the "hope still lives, and the dream shall never die." May your spirits stir and and your emotions soar as you seek not greater knowledge but greater wisdom, not a higher position but a higher truth, and not a greater financial reward but a greater joy for having lifted up your brothers and sisters, who needed your help and support. You have unbounded potential in the area "beyond the utmost bound of human thought."

Now let's all get to work. There is so much to do.
